About Us

Education Development Foundation for Excellence (EDFE) was established in 2007 as a non-governmental organization to undertake corrective initiatives in educationally disadvantaged areas of Nigeria. The foundation's initial activities began with the provision of financial help or grants and loans to educational institutions and organisations as well as providing scholarships to indigent students. In response to the needs identified, the foundation expanded its scope to include research, capacity building, and advocacy.

EDFE's research focuses on identifying best practices, gaps in the educational, health and environmental sector with the view to promoting recommendations for continous improvements. Under the health thematic area, EDFE promotes reproductive health, maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) and HIV/AIDS prevention programs, as well as school health programs as a strategic means to prevent important health risks among youths and to engage the education sector in efforts to change the educational, social, economic and political conditions that affect risk.

EDFE School Health Initiative seeks to mobilize and strengthen health promotion and education activities at the local, national, reginal and global levels. EDFE works hard to support education of African youths. We provide the "tools" needed by students and work collaboratively and creatively with teachers and administrators to help create the best environment conducive for attaining an outstanding success in elementary and secondary education.

EDFE has a history of being at the forefront of addressing socio-economic issues. Effective Learning and Classroom Management is a collection of the papers presented at the workshops and communiques from experts in various fields in Education.  It is essential  for both practising teachers and those in training who wish to create that conducive student -centred enviroment in which goal-directed teaching and learning activities can positively take place.
